How to Book Great Short Stay Ski Deals

With short haul flights to the continent becoming more and more frequent and ever more affordable, we are finding that short weekend breaks to the Alps have become much more popular. Nipping over to the Alps for a cheap weekend skiing can be just what you need at the height winter to get away from the strains of working life and revitalise in the mountains without using up too many holidays!

Booking the elusive ‘getaway’ or long weekend in the Alps has been quite tricky in the past with the majority of traditional operators focusing on ‘Saturday to Saturday’ ski holidays. PowderBeds now offers ‘short stay’ availability giving skiers and snowboarders the flexibility to book short ‘getaways’ or long weekends away. With this in mind we thought we’d offer a few tips on how to go about booking a short break to the Alps.

If you are thinking about arranging a short stay ski break away:

- Keep your options open and be as flexible as possible with your dates

- Look at a number of resorts in order to find the best deals for the dates that you’re travelling

- Book accommodation in a ski resort that is close to the airport

Look at accommodation in resorts like Avoriaz, Chamonix and St Gervais in the northern Alps where you can fly to Geneva with a transfer time of less than an hour and a half. La Plagne and Les Arcs offer great short stay availability in the Paradiski, as well as Meribel, Les Menuires and Bride les Bain in the 3 Valleys. For these resorts we would recommend flying to Geneva or Chambery and for Alp d’Huez and Les Deux Alpes in the Southern Alps fly to Grenoble.
