When skiing in India you'll fly to Srinagar airport in the North, just below the Himalayan mountains. It's a completely different experience to your standard skiing holiday!

The footage here is of the ski resort of Gulmarg, that consists of one long Gondola accessing a wealth of undiscovered back-country. On its day, Gulmar has been known to provide some of the best backcountry skiing in the world.

The snow often arrives in massive waves of light fluffy snow. If this dump has followed a warm spell, it falls on heavier harder layers of snow that have thawed and refrozen and can result in the snowpack becoming extremely dangerous. Described here as a ticking time bomb!

Never the less, Chad Sayers and Tobin Seagel find safe areas to ski and discover the beauty of Kashmir and the Himalaya - its people and its landscape.
