Burton Snowboards and Vail Mountain announced today that the Burton US Open will relocate to Vail, Colorado next Winter. This will be the 31st US Open and will kick off on the 25th of February at Vail's Golden Peak.

The Burton US Open is one of the most prestigous and longest-running snowboarding competitions in the World and the sport has evolved, changed and improved so much since it first took place in 1982, 3 decades ago.

It first took place at the ski resort of Suicide Six, Vermont, then Stratton and has now been moved to Vail in Colorado to address the growing needs of the riders and the continuing improvement in the level of snowboarding.

Blaise Carrig, president of Vail Resorts' mountain divisions says that he believes "it’s a perfect marriage of two great brands in the winter sports industry and we’ll do our utmost to make this a tremendously successful endeavour”.
