Overview of Lake Louise Ski Resort
When you ski Lake Louise you’ll discover it is not your typical ski resort in many respects, almost all good! Firstly you have a wonderful drive to reach here from Calgary through the stunning scenery of Banff National Forest.
Take a look at the Lake Louise ski map and you’ll find the ski resort itself is a rather fragmented affair, made up of a few dozen mostly large hotels, particularly the vast, world famous Chateau Lake Louise with its 500 rooms, and a handful of separate shops and restaurants spread out along a few roads off the Trans Canadian highway. Then the ski area itself is a few miles the other side of the highway by shuttle bus or in your rental car. If you’re looking for a more regular ski resort it’s a half hour or so drive to Banff itself where there are plenty of shops and restaurants.
But you’re more likely to be captivated by the splendid isolation of Lake Louise with scenery that is unbeaten anywhere else in the skiing world and a huge, exciting ski area that appeals to all ability levels. It’s quite simply a unique and very special place.
