Unsurprisingly there’s a wide range of après ski opportunities at Whistler with more than 30 bars, pubs, lounges and nightclubs to choose from and thousands of happy people in town to keep them lively.
The list of busy places is very long but the Longhorn is usually après central and the Garibaldi can be hard to get in to by late afternoon it’s so popular. The inevitable Irish pub draws crowds too – the phonetically spelt Dubh Linn Gate. There are half-a-dozen late night dance bars and clubs for night owls. Be sure to check out the locally brewed BC beers and wines.
If you’re looking for a more refined experience the cocktail and lounge bars in the resort’s five starred hotels including the Pan Pacific, Four Seasons, Westin and Fairmont Chateau Whistler are all good choices. In fact the Chateau has arguably the best cocktail bar in resort, The Mallard Lounge, which also serves excellent food an snacks.
Merlins- famous for its nachos, is just one of many lively après ski bars at the base of Whistler’s ski slopes
