Overview of Argentière Ski Resort

When you take your Argentière ski holiday you’ll discover the village is a modest-sized, rather strung-out affair, following the valley road, eight kilometres (five miles) from Chamonix, with which it shares several lift pass options.

The ski resort has retained some traditional village charm and there’s been skiing here for more than a century. It’s also a relatively quick trip here from Geneva Airport – about an 80 minute drive on a good day (not Saturday).

There’s a small selection of shops, restaurants, bars, apartments and hotels but most of the people who stay here, rather than in Chamonix itself, do so to be closer to the incredible ski area that towers above. Besides, it’s easy enough to get to all of Chamonix’s restaurants, shopping and facilities whenever you like.

Argentière is of course part of the Chamonix Valley, and is jointly promoted with the famous ski town and the other villages that surround it over the 20km long valley.

There are in fact half a dozen ski areas, but fortunately for good skiers staying in Argentière, the slopes here are the best of the lot in the superb Grand Montets ski area which stretches for more than 2,000 vertical metres above – better than all but a handful of resorts in the world, bigger, for example, than any lift served vertical in North America.

We offer Argentière accommodation including Le Cristal d'Argentière which are Argentière apartments located centrally and with great amenities.
