Speed Riding (+33 (0)6 82 04 88 65; parapenteairline.com) is a new snow sport that essentially involves skiing or boarding down a mountainside with a small paragliding sail billowing out behind you so that when you go over a jump, you get REALLY big air. It’s great fun and at La Toussuire the essential ingredients to your first experience – the right gear, the right course and the instructor – are all available.
Shopping
Shopping opportunities are limited in La Toussuire with only about 15 shops – most of them being skiwear or grocery shops (see relevant sections). Clic Clac Photo (+33 (0)4 79 56 71 62) is, unsurprisingly, a photographic store that also sells prints and postcards. Vival Alimentation (+33 (0) 04 79 05 97 76) is a general store serving groceries as well as gifts, stationery and photographic products. Please note that there is no chemist in the resort.
