Given its family-friendly reputation, Les Gets is not the most hedonistic of resorts, but there are several lively bars if that’s your cup of tea, and activities like bowling or cinema if you want a night out, as well as a weekly entertainments programme.
Le Pub Irlandais (The Irish Pub, +33 (0)4 50 75 86 02) is one of the most popular venues where Colin and his team welcome their guests as if to their own home. It offers live music every week, delicious tapas and homebrewed beers. Brewing beer is Colin’s passion and he follows German brewing methods using only water, malt, hops and yeast. The veritable Getoise - a lager with a deep aroma made from a recipe similar to Belgian beers is popular, as is La Rua, an Irish beer with a warm, golden colour.
Other usually lively venues include Bar Bush (+33 (0)4 50 79 86 62) and the Black Bear (+33 (0)4 50 75 40 81). For late night dancing head to L’Igloo (+33 (0)4 50 75 85 00; igloo-chaletclub.com) which was the first ski resort dance hall in France way back in 1938!
