Few if any resorts have a better reputation than Les Gets for families. Not only is the village and the ski area exceptionally family friendly but there are dozens of added extras that make Les Gets a very special place for a holiday together. Everything from a fun mini-train circulating around the resort centre or a magical museum of mechanical music boxes to a chocolate shop that offers weekly chocolate making lessons.

In terms of formal care, Les Fripouilles nursery (+33 (0)4 50 79 84 84) in the heart of the village provides non-ski care for children aged from six months to four years, after which the Les P'tits Montagnys, garderie (+33 (0)4 50 75 80 03) can care for children aged four to 12. The ski schools will look after your youngsters and teach first ski and fun lessons in a special protected and separate area on the slopes from age three. Les Gets is one of the few resort to have a ski school operating just for children among the options you have.

Also on the slopes, The “Grand Cry” Native American themed-village is great fun for young children aged 5 to 12 with tipis, wild-west decor and a face-painting workshop. There are ski-runs decorated with giant scene-setting cut-outs of totem poles, Native Americans and wild animals. There’s a ski-run complete with loud-speaker system and a cowboys’ log-cabin full of games and music. Every week during the season there are drawing competitions here along with storytelling, face-painting and treasure hunts.
