Sainte Foy is a good choice for a more holistic, high quality family ski holiday away from the crowds. It's a charming resort ideal for getting away from the hustle and bustle of a larger resort. And Bourg St Maurice is only a short drive away.

There’s no nursery provision for children aged under three but a registered child-minder, Mathilde Bouteille (+33 (0)6 09 15 80 53), will look after children aged from just a month old to three years, at her home, in the hamlet of la Thuile, but that does work out quite an expensive option. Les P'tits Trappeurs nursery (+33 (0)4 79 069515) is available from ages 3 to 11.

The French ski school offers ski kindergarten from age four upwards and there’s also the option of booking a private family ski lesson together for four people for three-and-a-half hours in the afternoon.
