The Grande Motte - Tignes - France Johann is our Insider in Tignes. He's only lived in the town itself for a year, but has been riding there for many more. As you'll see in the interview he's a keen snowboarder, very keen, and who wouldn't be of they lived in the ski resort?

After finishing the chat with him he sent over this photo with the following memo: "The attached photo dates from August 17th 2010 when I just came back from holidays.. 2 days of snow falls above 2500m and the 3rd day, sky became blue… Welcome back home!!! I love Summer in Tignes "

In our opinion summer in Tignes is great. Winter is better though - there's even more snow.

Don’t forget to enjoy the ice rink on the natural frozen lake! It’s so much fun.

Where do you like to go for a few drinks after a hard day skiing?
Nowhere because the day after will be even harder.. ;)

On one of the 4 free ski lifts because they won’t need skipass, and they can train as long as they want without spending money on it !
