My favourite European resort. Excellent skiing- huge, varied area. Lovely town and the Apres at Folie Douce is an experience not to be missed!
Not good for beginners however- greens that would be reds in part anywhere else make life very difficult for a beginner. But for experts who can handle most slopes, It's awesome and should be on every keen skier's "must ski" list.
I first went to Val d'Isere on family ski holidays more years ago than I care to remember. I went back as a student, when I was first married and I'm now planning to go back with our kids when they're old enough to learn. Val d'Isere is an all rounder - there's something for everyone. It feels like there's a lot of Brits there but it feels very French at the same time. Lunch at Frutiere highly recommended but save up!

I spent 2 great winters working in Val and I go back every year. It simply can't be beaten!
