Most of the dozen or so dining choices have bars too in which to relax, but Valmeinier is not the place to go for a lively bar-based après-ski scene. That said, the tourist office tries hard with a full evening entertainments programme, including shows and other live performances. Activities on offer include evening snowshoe hikes, ice skating, sledging and other fun in the snow. There’s also a bowling alley.
There are three establishments that are the busiest for après-ski, all in Valmeinier 1800. The No Comment Pub (+33(0)4 79 56 78 72) in the Tourism Office Square has a pool table and sometimes live music. Le Refuge des Trois Diables (+33(0)4 79 56 52 28) is another good bar. Later on there’s the Brasilia nightclub.
