With Park City’s Main Street, lined with bars and restaurants, only ten minutes shuttle ride away, après ski is not huge on-site at Canyons. However the resort did take the novel approach of opening a ‘Ski Beach’ at the base of the slopes from winter 2010-11, located between the base terminal of the two main gondola and chair lifts up the mountain. The beach has become a gathering place for the beginning and end of the ski day with everything from breakfast to an après ski cocktail available on the beach in the breathtaking setting with views of the mountains. New options here include The Farm (+1 (435) 615 8060), located on the Ski Beach itself across from the base of Red Pine Gondola with a spectacular view of both the Ski Beach and the mountain.

As the evening takes shape The Alpine House (Resort Village, Sundial Building; +1 (435) 615 4828) located at the top of the resort’s cabriolet lift is open all day to 10pm and has both a full bar and a wine bar. There are also several hotel bars where resort guests can relax or just head to Main Street and establishments like Mulligan's Irish Pub. Utah used to be a slightly complicated place to buy an alcoholic drink, requiring tourists to become ‘members’ of any bar or club to get a drink, or be a guest of a local, or buy food with their drink, but those rules were dropped in 2009 and now it’s just like anywhere else.
