There are several lively bars at the base of the slopes in Steamboat when the lifts close and the resort village is now large enough to sustain quite an evening buzz.
In town it is more individual establishments that get lively. The Ghost Ranch Saloon, located on Seventh Street downtown, offers a modern take on the stereotypical old west saloon. Big enough to hold more than 370 people it features a reclaimed 1986 Brunswich-Balke-Collendar barback and is decorated in an updated saloon style. There’s a dance floor upstairs that stays open through the small hours. The old town Pub is another popular choice.
