Resort Attractions

Telluride Eco Adventures is the resort’s centre for low-impact winter activity like dog sledding, gliding or snow shoeing and cross country skiing, as well as less eco-friendly options like snowmobile excursions. Based in the resort’s Winter Nature Center (+1 (970) 728 7300) it is also where children’s environmental initiatives are offered with staff trained to teach children about the local environment. The centre can supply all required equipment for each activity.

Shopping

Telluride now has more than 100 retail outlets and a year-round appeal so it is possible to come here just to shop.

Shops that sum up the spirit of Telluride include the Between the Covers Books & Espresso Bar (224 W. Colorado Avenue; +1 (970) 728 4504) where you can browse and enjoy a locally roasted quality coffee. Or the Appaloosa Trading Company (129 W. Colorado Avenue; +1 (970) 728 4966) has been making and selling quality leather goods and clothing since 1982. Or Cukurcuma (100 West Colorado), named after a crooked street in Istanbul, naturally enough, it’s the place to find everything from Nepalese wall hangings to African textiles as well as unique jewellery, clothing and souvenirs.

There are many more unique establishments in similar vein, but the full range of ‘regular’ shopping is also here: florists, jewellers, fashion stores, art galleries and souvenir shops are all available.
