L’Amara offers luxurious self-catering ski-in/ski-out apartments in Avoriaz, right on the slopes by the Falaise area of Avoriaz.

L'Amara has great facilities with an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam rooms and gym. There is also a Deep Nature Spa with treatment rooms and an outdoor hot tub (supplement applies).

Other facilities onsite include a bar, two restaurants, convenient ski shops and a kids creche.

  • Just on our way home after our 2nd stay at Pierres Vacances L'Amara apartments. It is still exceptional in every way. We had a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom on nearly the top floor with triple aspect commanding mountain views. We had deep blue sunny skies for the first 3 days with afternoon slushy pistes followed by fresh powder perfect snow in near complete whiteout, but the tradeoff with the weather was worth it for incredible piste andvoff piste alike. Expensive though faultless accommodation with amazing spa and pool, will dream about staying again! Highly recommended.

  • Great Accomodation. We had 2 linked appartments for a three generation holiday. Kitchen well equipped, though we could have done with some instructions for the combination oven. There was also a washing dryer machine which was great as we had a baby with us. Bread order in the morning was a real plus, and the swimming pool area was hugely popular. Children were taken to ski school by a free horse drawn sleigh every day. Would definitely recommend.

  • We have been to these apartments for four consecutive years and they are excellent. Ideal to have friends or family in different ones and so have some independence if you don’t want one larger one. The specification is great and it is the best ski in - ski out building we have found in the past thirty five years!

  • L’Amara part of Pierre and Vacences was well positioned with lots of space and well laid out apartments with great facilities . The heated boot rooms were very much appreciated and we would def recommend and return to this accommodation and area.

  • We stayed in a 2 bed room in Amenda and it was great. Plenty of space for a family of 4. We cooked quite a few meals in. The kitchen was well equipped. Better instructions for using the oven would be good but we figured it out.
    Lovely view down into Morzine. Ski locker not too far from room. Snow wasn't good so couldn't benefit from the ski in/ski out but a great location.

  • Great location and very happy with the accommodation. We were SC and the kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment. On negative, we had our 9 month old baby with us and we requested a baby kit, this consisted of a highchair, changing mat and travel cot. But the travel cot did not have a mattress so we had to improvise.
    It was lovely getting up with the beautiful views down to Morzine.

  • Who are Powderbeds? I had not heard of them but came across them by accident on the internet.
    Well Powderbeds have proved to be an excellent agent for helping us find a great holiday. They recommended L'Amara in Avoriaz. An excellent choice. Well located for the piste in the quiet corner of Avoriaz. The quality of accommodation and service was excellent. The whole experience was made all the easier through the assistance of Jude. She helped with all of our requests which made our trip trouble free. Everything was exactly as expected. I will definitely use Powderbeds again and who knows possibly even return to L'Amara again although we generally do not return to the same resort twice.

  • The L'Amara residence is truly ski in/ski out with excellent space in the lounge/kitchen for the 3 bed flat (for 6 people). Unless you want to be squashed, I would not recommend staying there with 8 people, despite how it is marketed. Everything worked well and I would consider staying there again.
    The downsides - this block of flats is on the edge of the resort, which is fine ski-wise but makes it a good 15 min walk to the centre of the resort. Also the flats do not appear to have any working ventilation, which meant that every room had condensation running down the windows and (in the case of the en-suited rooms) down the walls for most of the stay.

  • We went to L'Amara for a week on the 23rd March with our two boys (6,3) and stayed in a two bedroom apartment in the Dharma building. We were on the 7th floor and the views down the valley were incredible (on a clear day!). The standard of the apartment was superb - the best we've seen in France. The kids loved the pool and the corridors from our building to the main reception/pool building meant no dashing across the snow! We ate at Le Grand Cafe one lunchtime which was superb and had drinks at Le Lodge (our friends ordered take away pizza from there one evening). The Sherpa supermarket was around 200m away and there was also a boulangerie in La Falaise area. A great holiday in almost every way - if only we'd had more sunny days! Oh and Aquariaz is well worth a visit - our 6 year old loved it.

  • The Amara Residence Pierre et Vacances Premium was excellent accommodation and the only adverse criticism we had was that the pool and spa areas were crowded and being half term in France there were a lot of not very well behaved children and adolescents. We would suggest times for use by under 16's be limited. Also the bread and croissants service was not made known to us and we only found out about it on the day we left. Overall however we thought the accommodation and services were excellent.

  • Great apartment, spacious and clean with stunning views over the slopes! Skiing back in is fine, skiing out involves a Blue Run, so fine if you are ok with that level of skiing. Otherwise, it's an uphill trek to the slopes. We bought a sled to help carry the groceries home but the horse and sled taxis are cheap and efficient! Will definitely return!

Spa & Well-being

The perfect place to relax after a day on the slopes. The Deep Nature Spa has everything you need to unwind from luxurious spa treatments to a stunning outdoor hot tub which offers breath taking views into the mountains.

Restaurants, Dining & Bars

Guests can choose to self cater in one of the apartment kitchens or alternatively make the most of a 'Meal formula' which allows you to eat in one of the local restaurants. There are three restaurants on site; Le Lodge has a terrace with valley views and serves favourites such as burgers and '66' offers gastronomic food in a more formal setting. Surya, the main L'Amara reception building, has a stylish bar with a pool table and a kids play room and the Falaise area is right next to L'Amara.

Spa & Wellness

Residence L'Amara features its very own Deep Nature Spa located in the Surya building below the reception area. The Deep Nature Spa by Algotherm offers treatments with a focus on natural marine minerals and there's a shop there selling Algotherm products to take home. The spa features a range of treatments and guests also have access to the multi sensory shower, relaxation room and outdoor hot tub which has wonderful views over the valley.

Sports & Recreation Facilities

L’Amara has such a good range of activities that you could almost come here on a ski holiday and not bother with the skiing. You could take advantage of free use of the pool and spa area, or work out in the fitness room. Enjoy a quiet afternoon in the hotel reception where there is a nice open fire, selection of newspapers, Wifi and a pool table (payable locally).

Families & Children

L’Amara is absolutely ideal for families with children due not only to its internal facilities but also its location in relation to activities available in the resort. The residence has a pool, paddling pool, and a kids play room as well as WiFi in the reception area (all free to use). Furthermore there is a Kids Club for ages 3 to 12 on site where kids can enjoy a range of supervised activities leaving parents free to relax as children play. (subject to extra costs, book in advance).

Location

L'Amara is located in a ski-in/ski-out position at the entrance to Avoriaz on the right hand side with incredible elevated views down the valley. There are superb amenities on site including two Skiset ski shops, both featuring rental departments as well as shops selling a wide choice of ski equipment and clothing.

There are also three restaurants on-site and two bars with a nearby well stocked supermarket perfect for supplies for self-catering.

Directions

The residence L’Amara is situated at the entrance of Avoriaz next to the current covered car park. If arriving by car then you will need to leave it at either the residence car park or the nearby open one. Both of these cost extra but are guarded and open 24 hours/day. The covered parking is approximately €100 per week and the open parking is approximately €70 per week.

It is the guest's responsibility to arrive between the hours of check-in. In the case of late arrival, guests must notify the property reception on the telephone number provided, otherwise access to the apartment cannot be guaranteed.

Security deposit of €300 to be paid at check-in.

On arrival, if there are any issues with cleanliness these should be reported to the Residence Manager immediately.
