3 Bedroom Cabin Apartment with Sauna - sleeps 8

These duplex apartments measure approximately 100m², providing space for up to 8 people. On the lower floor there's a twin or double bedroom with en-suite shower room, a cabin room with bunk beds, and a shower room.

The upper floor offers two twin bedrooms (one with en-suite shower room), bathroom with jacuzzi bath, separate WC, a private sauna, a living room with fireplace, a kitchen and one or two balconies.

Please note that information regarding layout is intended as a guide and that in some apartments the living area may be on the lower floor and the cabin on the upper floor.

  • Village Montana Apartments - We stayed in an apartment for 8 people. We were 4 adults and 2 children and the accommodation was very good for that number but would be cramped for 8 adults. There were enough seats to relax in as well as the dining chairs. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery but a shortage of ordinary drinking glasses and it would have been nice to have mugs in addition to cups. Cooking utensils just about ok. Could do with a bigger saucepan. There was an oven, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and toaster in addition to dishwasher, fridge and freezer. The living area is open plan with the kitchen in one corner fitting into a right angle. Unfortunately it is not well designed and the sink was in the corner which makes it difficult to use. It is also almost impossible for 2 people to be doing anything kitchen-wise at the same time. The storage/cupboard space in the bedrooms is extremely limited. A big plus is the number of showers and toilets and one bath. There seemed to be plenty of hot water - always a good point. Generally the space in the apartment could have been better utilised, poor design again. Also there is a TV in every bedroom as well as the lounge. We didn't turn a single TV on even once - that many seems unnecessary. The Hotel further up the road offers ski service plus you could order croissants and bread for breakfast. I wonder why anyone would - there is a mini Spar supermarket right under the apartments which opens at 7am - much easier than going up a rather steep road to the hotel and there is an Intersport for hiring ski equipment across the road a couple of steps from the apartment. The position of the apartments is fantastic for ski school, which takes less than 5 minutes walk to get to. We used the sauna in the apartment twice - it is very small and only room for 2 at a time and then it is a bit squashed. Nice but an unnecessary luxury and we would have appreciated more space in the bedrooms or kitchen area. I would only give it 7 out of 10 for cleanliness and I found a bottle of water under our bed from a previous occupant. Also the double bed had been made up with a single flat sheet on the mattress which barely met the sides of the bed. This was rectified when I asked for it to be replaced with a sheet that fitted. Keys are collected and returned to the Hotel reception - we only had two keys and then on their return the receptionist clearly didn't believe that we hadn't had 4, which they did finally accept. Newer, and better living space than most french apartments we have stayed in. Quite pricey but location is great if you are using ski school. Eating out in the evening seemed to require much more advanced booking than usual. Tignes is a fabulous resort with plenty of skiing for all abilities and easy access to Val d'isere. The pistes are well maintained and being high has a longer season than many other ski resorts.

  • Airelles apartment was great. Roomy, clean, well situated with boot room leading out onto the slopes, supermarket downstairs. Hotel facilities including ski hire and outdoor pool and spa all on site. We would definitely return.

Residence Montana Airelles is located in the peaceful Les Almes hamlet, 400m from Le Lac, with its shops and restuarants, and just 30 metres from the nearest lift. The slopes can be accessed directly from the residence.

Directions

After the sign for TIGNES LE LAC, drive 200 meters and turn right after the INTERSPORT ski shop, just before the round about and tunnel. The Hotel Village Montana is located 200 metres up the hill and this is the place where keys are to be collected.
