Les Diablerets Resort Attractions
A popular evening excursion in Les Diablerets that’s well worth the 50 Franc cost is the fondue meal followed by a toboggan run descent (+41 (0)24 492 12 32; mountain-evasion.ch). Your evening begins at around 6.30pm with a ride up the Vioz-Mazots quad chairlift to the Mazots mountain restaurant at 1,717m for your scrumptious cheese fondue. Then sometime after 10pm you’ll board your sledge for the 7.2km (4.5 mile) descent back down to the village, dropping 560 vertical metres en route, where a glass of warm gluhwein awaits. Perfecto! The sledge run is usually open from mid-December until the beginning of March depending on snow conditions.

Shopping
Shopping is limited to about 12 stores, most of them food or clothing outlets.
The Bazar des Alpes (Rue des Ormonts; +41 (0)24 492 38 06) sells gifts, newspapers and magazines and the Chalet Photo-Presse (Rue de la Gare; +41 (0)24 492 31 80) sells books, photographic products and stationary. Intemporel (Rue des Ormonts; +41 (0)24 492 26 09) is the option for home decor items. There’s also a bank, post office and chemists.
For a wider choice of gift shopping the short bus ride over to Gstaadbrings a bigger selection of stores along that famous resort’s pedestrianised high street.
