Chamonix: famous for that rare mix of breathtaking scenery and vibrant, traditional town, for its perfect location in the shadow of Mont Blanc and under an hour from Geneva, and perhaps even more importantly, for its unbeatable ski area.

Having long held the number one spot for off-piste and freeriding, whilst also appealing to families, couples and simply those looking for an exciting escape to somewhere unique, it’s no suprise Chamonix is still frequently described as the Capital of the Alps.

The extraordinary mix of ski areas means that whether you’re looking for a serious challenge or just a chance to improve your skills, the legendary Grands Montets, and the Balme, La Tour, Brevent and Flegère areas will be more than enough to keep you busy.

But even without the spectacular ski area, regular Chamonix-goers are well-aware that the town that awaits beneath the mountain is far from ordinary. Much more than just great shopping and an amazing selection of bars and restaurants, the resort has a one-of-a-kind vibe – during the day and into the night.
