What to do after a day on the slopes

Although not widely known as a place for wild nights, the village is home to half-a-dozen lively pubs and plenty of more relaxed night spots too. In the former category L’Avalanche (+33 (0)4 50 81 67 97; pubavalanche.com) and Nazca Bar (+33(0)6 15 85 40 53) are firm favourites with many visitors.

There are also plenty of other evening activities to try including the Monday evening welcome drinks from the tourist board, the two cinemas showing English films, ice skating and bowling.

But if you want to party until late then Le Sloopy's (+33 (0)6 08 10 78 91) discotheque in the Super-Châtel gondola lift building in the village centre is the place to head to. Open from midnight until 5.30am (just a few hours before the lifts re-open) there are two dance areas themed on the 1980s and general Euro-pop and various themed nights are organised.
