St Gervais Resort Attractions

Hot air ballooning is always a special experience, but taking off from St Gervais and flying opposite Mont Blanc is something truly unique.

You’ll also get great views of some of the highest summits in the Alps under the supervision of the Alpes Montgolfière ballooning company’s (+33 (0)4 50 55 50 60; alpes-montgolfiere.fr) professional pilots. Children are welcome but there’s a minimum height requirement to 1.3m (4.3 feet).

Shopping

With about 100 shops in and around the village St Gervais is a better choice for those looking to wander around a wider variety of shops than just ski stores and grocery outlets than many ski resorts.

There’s a good collection of souvenir shops, some run by or supplying the work of local artists, as well as several photographic stores (including Phenomedia; +33 (0)4 50 78 11 06), various newsagents and a book and stationery shop (Papeterie des Neiges; +33 (0)4 50 47 71 68) as well as several clothes stores that are just regular fashion stores and don’t stock ski stuff! There are even three florists if you want to brighten up your apartment during your stay.
