Located in the Northern Alps about 70km from the Geneva Airport, St Gervais is a hugely convenient option, with a travel time from the airport often coming in at less than an hour. There are regular bus transfers from Geneva up to the resort, as well as rail links and the possibility of driving to this resort from the UK. Having a car for your stay is a great way to access some of the most extensive terrain and resorts of the Chamonix-Mont Blanc ski area during your stay.

By Plane

Geneva Airport - 70km / approx 50 mins

Geneva is by far the most convenient airport for St Gervais.

Geneva Airport Transfers do regular transfers to the resort and Altibus also serve the route well with a regular coach service

For a private transfer we'd recommend Ski Lifts

Chambéry Airport - 130km / approx 1 hours 25 mins

There’s not much in the way of public transport between Chambéry and St Gervais, but the drive isn’t too long so you can hire a car or take a private transfer with Ski Lifts

Lyon Airport - 210 km / approx 2 hours 10 mins

Other than hiring a car and driving you can take a private transfer with Ski Lifts as above

Turin Airport - 190 km / approx 2 hours 20 mins

Other than forking out a small fortune for a taxi, your only real option here is hire car, but at 2 hours it is an easily doable drive.

Car Rental

If you require a hire car for your ski holiday, there are a number of fantastic car rental companies based in Europe.

By Train

Travelling by train is certainly possible and requires a couple of changes. You will need to take the train from London St Pancras to Paris where a change of station is required from Gare du Nord across the city to Gare de Lyon to catch the domestic TGC service to Annecy. From here, change is at Annecy for the train direct to the resort and St Gervais Les Bains station.

Another easier option however slightly more expensive would be to take the direct TGV service from Paris Gare de Lyon to Cluses and take a taxi the last 35km to St Gervais.

Self-Drive

St Gervais is a great option for driving for those that like to have your car in resort. It is one of the easiest resorts to access by car, taking between 7 and 9 hours from Calais, depending on the traffic and weather conditions. St Gervais is a great hub for discovering other resorts nearby making trips to Megeve and Les Contamines, Flaine possible ever Verbier a little further away. Travelling by car to St Gervais we suggest that you avoid Paris and take the route via Reims instead.

We strongly recommend that you bring a set of snow chains, it‘s very likely that you’ll use them if you’re travelling at the height of the winter. You can get good directions, fuel estimations and toll road costs with www.viamichelin.com.

On getting to the resort there is plenty of parking available outside, and covered parking usually costing around €40 for a week. However, during high season good parking spaces are slightly less accessible and may take slightly longer to get a space.
