Located at the end of the valley below La Plagne, Les Coches benefits from the same good transport links as its neighbouring ski resorts. It is only 20 minutes by taxi from the snow train terminal at Bourg St Maurice, and has a range of service airports too. The resort is purpose built, but done so in an attractive manner with particular attention applied to the village lighting. As such, arriving at night can be something of a magical experience, with the snowy trees and buildings lit up by the attractive lighting.

Travel to Les Coches

By Plane

Chambery Airport - 108km / approx 1 hours 30 mins

The most convenient option (although slightly more expensive) is to take a private transfer with Ski Lifts

Geneva Airport - 192 km / approx 2 hours 20 mins

The best option is driving a hire car or take a private transfers with Ski Lifts

Lyon Airport - 193 km / approx 2 hours 20 mins

As with Geneva, Altibus can take you as far as Bourg St Maurice (www.alti-bus.com), but if you would like to do the journey in one fell swoop, it would be best to hire a car or take a private transfer with Ski Lifts as above

Grenoble Airport - 137 km / approx 1 hours 44 mins

Bens Bus run regular busses to Bourg with times that tie in with most flights from the UK. As above though however you will need to finish the journey off with a taxi ride.

By Train

With its proximity to Bourg St Maurice, the final stop on the direct snow train, Les Coches is fairly easy to reach by train from the UK.

The overnight service that takes you direct to Bourg leaves London each Friday and arrives the following morning, giving you almost a full day skiing when you otherwise would be travelling. If you’d rather travel by day, the day time service leaves London on the Saturday morning arriving in Bourg St Maurice later that afternoon. You will need to finish the journey off with a 20 minute taxi ride from Bourg up to Les Coches itself. Eurostar operates the snow train service, so tickets can be booked at www.eurostar.com. If you’d rather travel midweek, there are daily services to Bourg St Maurice.

This will involve a taxi ride in Paris as you change from Gare du Nord to Paris Austerlit. The direct TGV service that will take you to Bourg St Maurice, with an arrival time later that afternoon. Tickets and timetables are available at rail-europe.com.

Self-Drive

Driving to Les Coches is of course an option, it does however take a full day at 7 to 10 hours from Calais. You do hear the odd case of people making it in less, however this is very dependent on the traffic and the weather conditions. Viamichelin (www.viamichelin.com) provide a brilliant service for planning routes, it also calculates your toll road costs, and gives you an estimate of your fuel costs. There is underground parking available in resort at a cost of about €55 per week.
