Linked to the Three Valleys by a 20 minute gondola ride up to Meribel, Brides Les Bains, was used as a base for athletes during the Albertville 1992 Winter Olympics to access other host venues such as La Plagne, Les Arcs, Tignes and Val d’Isere. The legacy of this was good road networks making Brides Les Bains an easy resort to reach. The resort is a particular favourite of skiers with their own transport, as the six day inter-changeable lift ticket gives access to three of France’s biggest: The Three Valleys, the Paradiski area and the Espace Killy.

Self-Drive

Driving to Brides Les Bain can easily be done in a day, typically between 7 and 10 hours from Calais, weather and traffic dependant, and with its position on the valley floor, it is certainly an easier drive than to the other resorts of the Tarrentaise. Having access to a car in Brides Les Bains can be very handy due to its convenient location and the quality of the road network (thanks to the 1992 Albertville winter Olympics), making the trips to the Paradiski area and the Espace Killy a definite option.

When the weather is poor and particularly the during the peak holiday season it can be slow getting up to most resorts, but of course this is not a problem with Brides-les-Bains due to its low altitude. As you would expect when the weather closes in, a set of snow chains are a worthy investment so make sure you add them to your check list. On arrival at Brides Les Bain free public parking is available at a location near the town centre.
