There's quite a good choice of activities for families in La Toussuire given the convenience of the slope side accommodation with all facilities nearby in resort and nursery ski areas on your doorstep too. The fact that the resort is relatively flat with no major through-road and a pedestrianised main street are also plus points. So are the wide, easy, sunny slopes, accessed by high-speed six-seat chairs which mean even larger families can ride up and ski down together.

The lower-than-the-big-resorts-in-the-Alps prices, the relaxed locals and family friendly restaurants are more great benefits. There is also the wide choice of non-ski activities such as trampolining or the sledging hill means there’s more to burn off your kids energy if they still have some left, at the end of the day.

The Galopins Nursery (+33 (0)4 79 83 06 06) accepts children aged from six month to three years old, which is just when the local ski school begins its nursery classes in the resort’s own snow garden.
