Courchevel scores highly for après ski with the majority of its 50 or so bars concentrated in 1850, the lower bases with a smaller selection and generally more inexpensive and quieter.

The big choice in 1850 ranges from lively slopeside places that are busy when the lifts close such as The Cap Horn. Then there are whole range of options through the evening from lively bars like Piggy’s Pub to plenty of stylish lounges, many in the top class hotels, such as Le Stanley's bar in the Kilimandjaro Hotel (+33 (0) 479 01 46 46);  which serves cocktails next to the warm fire.

There are a number of night clubs for a late night dance, such as The Grange (Porte de Courchevel ; +33 (0) 479 08 12 74).

In the lower bases the après-ski is typically more relaxed and more affordable with few sophisticated bars, the Taverne in 1550 is usually good.
