There’s a lot for families in Les Deux Alpes, with plenty to do in the evenings, as well as a wide choice of restaurants and creperies.

If you’re in search of a big, busy resort, this could be the place for you. If you’re looking for somewhere small and intimate, it isn’t.

For young children the Bonhomme de Neige building in the heart of the resort is home to three separate childcare services, a crèche, a nursery and a leisure centre. The crèche welcomes babies from just six months and is of course run by fully qualified childcare staff. The nursery is for slightly older children aged from two to six. Older children are well catered for at the Leisure Centre which organises a wide range of activities.

Children can learn to ski from age of three at one of the three ski nurseries operated by the ski schools. These feature enclosed learning areas complete with easy-to-use conveyor lifts. Older children can join the standard French national ski classes.
In the wider ski area a special kids' snowpark is part of the main park area and welcomes children aged six to ten to try out tricks on mini-terrain features. It also has a carpet lift for easy ascents back up.

There are four sledging slopes reserved for different age groups, beginning with under six, activities like quad bikes (easy circuit for kids aged over three), and the swimming pool – admission to which is free for holders of a six day lift pass (as is entry to the ice rink, though not skate hire). There’s also bowling, ice gliders (bumper cars on ice for children over 1.2m/4 feet tall) and the tourist office organises lots of events.

Large families with at two or more children aged under 18 accompanied by two adults receive a discounted price on lift tickets when purchasing at least four ski-day ski passes at the same time.
